Everything you will need to know about registering for the World Shakuhachi Festival 2008 will be posted on this page.
Once the registration forms have been completed, they will be posted here for downloading and printing.
FYI, the estimated registration fee will be about AUS$550 for the entire four and a half days of the Festival. Registration fees will cover all concerts, workshops, lectures, seminars, panel discussions and presentations during the Festival. A small, additional amount will be charged for the Farewell Banquet Night on the final evening of the Festival ($50) and any private lessons that the registrant might wish to receive during the Festival.
These figures are subject to change.
A special registration fee for people would like to come to Sydney during WSF08, but are not necessarily interested in performing or attending the daytime events. This type of registration would include attendance to all evening concerts, and be eligible for any special discounts for airfare and accommodation.
Full registration: A$500
Koto/shamisen registration: A$500, includes koto hire (TBC)
Absolute Beginner registration: A$350
Spouse/friend registration: A$200
Farewell Banquet on final night: A$50
It is estimated that the typical cost for a participant coming from Japan, including airfare and five star accommodation will be about ¥250,000.
